The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here! Welcome to Idyllwild 2024!

As you prepare for the upcoming Idyllwild CinemaFest film festival from March 5th to 10th, we want to ensure you have all the necessary information to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

All film screenings will take place at the Rustic Theatre, where our partners Graham and Gail Sutherland have the best hospitality on the hill! The theatre has a delightful selection of food items at their snack bar, including wine, beer, and other beverages for adults. We kindly request that outside food, drinks, and alcohol are not brought onto the premises.

Idyllwild is a charming, tourist-friendly mountain community with a plethora of mom-and-pop shops and restaurants, boasting a distinct lack of franchises. Most amenities and attractions are within walking distance, and the town sees constant foot traffic, particularly on weekends when families flock to the area. When driving around town, please exercise caution and be mindful of pedestrians.

Parking in town can be limited, and the theatre itself does not offer parking facilities. However, you can park for free all day just one block away at "The Fort" in their back parking lot, conveniently located in the center of town. We kindly request that you refrain from parking in front of any small businesses.

As for the weather, the forecast for the week in Idyllwild predicts highs in the high 40s to low 50s during the day, with chilly nights dropping to freezing temperatures. There is also a possibility of rain on Wednesday and Thursday, March 6th and 7th.

All filmmakers are required to check-in at the theatre to collect their filmmaker passes and receive important information. The theatre will be open daily from 10 am onwards.  At this time, we will also need to know who will be attending the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 10th at 1 pm. Each film will receive two tickets to the ceremony and entrance is on a first come, first seated basis. Those not securing a seat will be able to stay in our overflow section in the lobby. A check-in with our Artist Liason on Saturday night, or Sunday by 12 noon is required so that we know you have representation for the awards. 

Awards Ceremony Etiquette: Remember, the IDY awards ceremony is an international affair. Photos and videos will be documenting the entire ceremony.  Look smart, as these photos and videos will circulate the globe. Dress your best. Dress for filmmaking success.
